Mauro Petriccione is the Director-General for Climate Action, in charge of overseeing the climate elements of the European Green Deal. He is the highest-ranking European Civil Servant whose area of responsibility is climate. Mr. Petriccione has 33 years of experience at the European Commission, where he has held various positions, with a focus on trade policy. Ambassador Andras Simonyi will discuss with Mr. Petriccione the:

– European Green Deal
– Challenges Europe faces meeting its net-zero ambitions for 2050
– Milestones of this journey, the role of government and private sector
– European policies for a climate-friendly post-COVID-19 recovery.

They will also discuss the future of cooperation with the United States in the field of climate in light of the Biden Administration’s return to the Paris Agreement and the upcoming COP26 in Glasgow.
