Privacy Policy
The Security and Sustainability Forum (SSF) is committed to protecting the privacy of people who visit ssfworld.org, subscribe to our communications, or register for our webinars. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it.
What We Collect
Subscriber information: When you subscribe to SSF communications, we collect your name and email address.
Webinar registration: When you register for an SSF webinar, we collect your name, email address, job title, and organization. We may also collect responses to registration questions about your professional background and interests.
Survey data: We periodically conduct audience surveys. Participation is voluntary. Survey responses are collected and stored by SSF.
Website usage data: Like most websites, ssfworld.org automatically collects standard technical information including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is used in aggregate to improve the site and is not linked to individual identities.
How We Use Your Information
SSF uses the information we collect to:
Send you webinar announcements, program updates, and other SSF communications you have opted into.
Administer webinar registrations and deliver post-event recordings and materials.
Analyze audience composition and engagement to improve our programs and report aggregate data to webinar sponsors.
Respond to inquiries directed to SSF.
Webinar Sponsors
SSF webinars are produced with the support of organizational sponsors. SSF does not sell subscriber or registrant data, and does not share individual contact information with sponsors as a standard practice.
When you register for an SSF webinar, the registration form includes an opt-in checkbox. For most webinars, the checkbox authorizes communications from SSF only. For webinars where the sponsor has requested registrant contact information, the checkbox names the sponsor and authorizes communications from both SSF and that sponsor. The checkbox is never pre-checked, the sponsor's name is stated explicitly, and your contact information is added to a list only if you check the box.
Aggregate, non-identifying audience data (such as sector breakdowns and registration counts) may be shared with sponsors regardless of individual consent, as this information does not identify any individual.
Third-Party Platforms
EmailOctopus: SSF uses EmailOctopus to manage our subscriber list and send email communications. Your name and email address are stored on EmailOctopus servers. EmailOctopus privacy practices are described at emailoctopus.com/legal/privacy.
Vimeo: SSF webinar recordings are hosted on Vimeo and embedded on ssfworld.org. When you view a recording, Vimeo may collect data in accordance with its own privacy policy at vimeo.com/privacy.
WordPress and GoDaddy: This website is hosted on GoDaddy using WordPress. Standard hosting and platform data practices apply.
Data Retention
SSF retains subscriber and registrant data for as long as your subscription is active or as needed to administer our programs. You may request deletion of your information at any time by contacting us at the address below. We will honor deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Your Rights -- EU Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data held by SSF:
The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
The right to request deletion of your data.
The right to object to or restrict our processing of your data.
The right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, contact SSF in writing at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
Opt-Out and Unsubscribe
Every SSF email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also contact us directly to be removed from our list. If you previously opted into sponsor contact on a specific webinar registration, unsubscribing from SSF does not remove your data from that sponsor. Contact the sponsor directly to opt out of their communications.
